Product Description
A prominent feature of Apoptosis is the degradation of chromosomal DNA. Under the action of some endogenous endonuclides, the DNA between nucleosomes is cut, resulting in the formation of oligonucleosome fragments of different lengths, which is manifested by a specific 180-200bp DNA Ladder pattern in agarose gel electrophoresis. The DNA of the dead cells showed a diffuse continuum.
One Step TUNEL Apoptosis Assay Kit (FITC) adopts the TUNEL (TdT-mediated dUTP Nick End Labeling) method, which is based on the principle that terminal deoxyribonucleotidyl transferase (Terminal Deoxynucleotidy Transferase, TdT) catalyzes the doping of fluorescein-12-deoxytriphosphate uridine (FITC-12-dUTP) at the 3´-hydroxyl (3´-OH) terminus of the broken DNA of apoptotic cells.FITC-12-dUTP-labeled DNA can be viewed directly by fluorescence microscopy or quantitatively detected by flow cytometry.
The kit is highly sensitive, specific and easy to use. For fixed and washed tissue samples (paraffin sections, frozen sections) and cell samples (adherent cells, suspended cells), apoptosis can be detected after only one step of staining and washing. The kit also provides a DNase I positive control and Proteinase K for manipulation. Based on 50 μL spiked volume, MA0223-1 can be assayed 20 times and MA0223-2 can be assayed 50 times.
Performance
It is easy and quick to use. For fixed and washed tissue samples (paraffin sections, frozen sections) and cell samples (adherent cells, suspension cells), apoptosis can be detected after only one step of staining and washing.

Control experiment: a well-known domestic brand TUNEL apoptosis assay kit was used as a control. Under the same experimental conditions, C6 cells were treated with Apoptosis Activator 2, and fluorescence staining after apoptosis was observed by fluorescence microscopy.
Detection results: As shown in Figure 1, MeilunBio One-Step TUNEL Apoptosis Assay Kit has significantly higher sensitivity and better staining effect.
